Description
Ribavirin is a purine nucleoside derivative that exhibits antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities. This compound displays broad spectrum antiviral activity but is most often clinically used in conjunction with IFN to treat hepatitis C infection. In macrophages, ribavirin decreases NO levels.
